Cardboard boxes are used to transport or ship all
kind of goods. When temperature sensitive goods,
such as food products or pharmaceuticals are
shipped, the cardboard boxes are equipped with an
insulation material to protect the temperature of
the goods against unwanted external temperatures.
In the past the use of polystyrene insulation was
most commonly used yet due to the big
disadvantages such as big volume at the sender and
receiver, waste management, etc... more and more
companies are looking for alternatives to ship
their temperature sensitive goods.
The Temax
insulation is such an alternative. The
Temax insulation is a high insulation material
which is flexible and foldable. When for use in
boxes, the Temax insulation is produced as flat
bags which are easily unfolded in the cardboard
box. This gives the big advantage that the volume
for storage at the sender is minimal. Also the
receiver can unpack the insulation easily and fold
it together to a small package so a minimal waste

and R values are inclusive the surface heat transfer resistance
(Rsi and Rse) with horizontal heat transfer. The values are also
inclusive the reflection heat resistance factor.
With
this model called “ bag-in-box” the
insulation material is seperated from the
box and is produced as a bag which is placed
inside the cardboard box.
The
cardboard box and the insulation material are
delivered as a flat plate which is unfolded before
usage. The box is sealed at the bottom with tape
so the insulation or insulated bag can be placed
inside the cardboard box. When the insulated bag
is placed in the box, the corners are pressed-out
against the corners of the box so the bag takes
the shape of the box. Next the temperature
sensitive products can be loaded. As the goods are
loaded the bag is sealed at the top so the
cardboard box can be closed and sealed with tape.

Fold
box
With
this model of cardboard box, the Temax
insulation material is fixed to the
cardboard box which increases the handling
process in the usage. Fast and easy.
The
cardboard box with integrated insulation material
is produced and delivered as a flat plate and can
be unfolded with just one movement. With this
movement the box folds open automatically in which
also the bottom unfolds so it does not need to be
sealed separately. As soon as the box is folded,
the insulation material is pressed into the box so
the box is ready to be loaded with the temperature
sensitive goods. After the filling, the lid is
placed on the cardboard box. The lid is
pre-produced with the insulation material. The
insulation inside the cardboard box is folded over
the sides of the box so when the lid is closed,
the box is automatically sealed so potential cold
bridges are closed.

Fold
box with folding lid
To
make the usage even more easy, the box with
folding lid offers a great advantage seeing
the lid is fixed at the box together with
the required insulation material in the box
and the lid.
This
cardboard box with folding lid is also
pre-produced with a special folding bottom system
and insulation material. The fold box with lid is
produced and delivered as a flat plate so it takes
a minimum of storage. The box unfolds with one
movement in which the box, the bottom and the
insulation material is folded and ready to use.
The sides of the box can be folded inwards so a
thermal sealing is created with the folding lid
meaning that at the closing the cold bridges are
closed.

Pyramid
fold box
The
pyramid cardboard box is a special box in
which the insulation material is already
integrated as the previous boxes. Due to a
special folding system the box folds
together sealing the box and the insulation
As
the previous boxes, the pyramid box is also
produced and delivered as a flat plate so it does
not take a lot of storage capacity. The box is
special designed so it folds open with just one
movement in which the box, the bottom and the
insulation material unfolds. The sides of the
cardboard box and the attached insulation is
higher that the filling volume so at the closing
these sides fold together sealing and closing the
potential cold bridges.

TEMIN

The
Temin box has the same usage as the “bag
in box” model yet another type of
insulation material is used called the Temin
insulation quality.
With
this design the cardboard box and the insulation
material are not attached on each other in the
production but are two separate products. Before
usage the cardboard box is unfolded and the
insulation material is placed in the box. The box
and the insulation material are produced as flat
plates so a minimal of storage is required. The
insulation material can be pre-produced with
double sided tape for sealing the potential cold
bridges.
