|
| What
are pallet boxes / pallet shippers ? |
|

|
Pallet
boxes or pallet shippers are
cardboard boxes which are made to
the size of a pallet, a Euro pallet
(80x120cm) or a block pallet
(100x120cm) or tailor made
dimensions.
|
|
|
The
pallet boxes or pallet
shippers have all kind
of shapes depending on
the producer and can be
tailor made according to
the wishes of the
customer. The advantage
of using pallet boxes or
pallet shippers is that
the goods which are
loaded in the pallet box
are protected in
transport.

.
|
| Insulation
for pallet boxes / pallet shippers |
|
When
temperature sensitive
products are shipped
with pallet boxes or
pallet shippers, the
pallet box could be
foreseen with insulation
material transforming
the pallet box in an
insulated pallet box.
When the pallet box is
insulated, the pallet
box functions as a passive
cooling
system in the cold chain
meaning that the
temperature of the
temperature sensitive
products it protected
from the unwanted
external or outer
temperatures due to the
insulation material. The
time preservation of the
temperature will be
depending on the
insulation quality of
the used insulation
material. These
insulated pallet
shippers or pallet boxes
are used for the
transport of temperature
sensitive food,
perishables,
pharmaceuticals or
medicines, chemicals,
etc…
|
|
|
.
|
|
Single
use or multiple use
|
|
When
insulation materials are
foreseen in pallet
shippers or pallet boxes
the choice could be made
for a single use or
multiple use application
depending on the
logistic process. Single
use insulation materials
are used just one time
so the ecological
footprint of
the material needs to be
taken into
consideration. Multiple
use insulation materials
are used more often
which also means that a
return flow from the
receiver of the goods to
the sender needs to be
orginised.

made productions |

The
company Krautz – Temax
is developer and
producer of special
insulated pallet boxes
and pallet shippers for
single use and multiple
use applications in
which the pallet box and
insulation materials are
tailor made according to
the required temperature
preservation and
logistic process. |

"Pre-build-box" Pre-produced and fixed
insulated pallet boxes
|
|
With
the pre-produced pallet box as shown below, the
pallet box (A) is pre-produced with the
insulation material (B) and optional with
additional shelves (C) for extra cooling as
ice-packs (E). This means that the pallet box is
ready to be used. The implemented insulation
materials are available in different insulation
qualities depending on the pay-load volume and
the required temperature preservation. |

2.
"Re-use-box" Multiple use and self fix
insulated pallet box
|
|
This
insulated pallet box as shown below is a
multiple use system which is not pre-produced as
a box but is produced as flat plates which need
to be assembled at the shipper. The plates being
the bottom, the roof and the sides are produced
out of polyethylene plates on which the
insulation material is glued. The plates also
have build-in placement borders so all the cold
bridges are totally closed as the box is
assembled. The implemented insulation materials
are available in different insulation qualities
depending on the pay-load volume and the
required temperature preservation. When the
pallet box arrives at the receiver of the goods,
the receiver can dismantle the box back to flat
plates so the return flow does not take a lot of
volume. |

3.
"Fold cover" Loose pre-produced insulated
cover for pallet boxes
|
|
In
this design as shown below, the insulation
material is pre-produced as a cover which is
placed on the inside of a pallet box or pallet
shipper. The sides of the folded cover are
larger than the dimensions of the pallet box so
when closed, the cold bridges at the top can be
sealed. The fold cover for pallet boxes is
pre-produced as a flat plate and can easily be
unfolded in the pallet box for usage. The
implemented insulation materials are available
in different insulation qualities depending on
the pay-load volume and the required temperature
preservation. |

Loose insulated thermal blankets for pallet boxes
|
|
This
last design as shown below the pallet box or
pallet shipper is insulated with loose
insulation materials. These loose insulation
materials can easily be cut from the standard
rolls. The advantage hereby is that the
insulation material can be used for all kind of
sizes of different pallet boxes so no tailor
made productions are required. When usage this
way of working it is important that the
insulation material is overlapping in all the
edges so potential cold bridges are closed. At
the top it is also important to create an
overlap to there are no gabs or opening in the
insulation when the pallet box is closed. |
