Usage of reflecting cardboard boxes in the cold chain logistics of perishables
Cardboard boxes are used to transport or ship all kind of goods. When temperature sensitive goods, such as food products or pharmaceuticals are shipped, silver boxes could be used. The advantage of silver boxes is that they directly show that the goods in the box are temperature sensitive. This is shown to all the actors in the cold chain as the receiver and most important to the customer of the pharmaceutical producer or shipper. The silver boxes are, due to their very special looks, mostly used for high quality pharmaceuticals. The silver box is foreseen with a strong reflection foil on the outside, improving the temperature result and visualizing the content to be temperature sensitive.
- Silver reflection = temperature resistance
- Silver reflection = visualizing temperature goods
- Silver reflection = visualizing high quality goods
Water protected, water resistant
Cardboard boxes are made out of cardboard which is vulnerable to water which makes de box weak. The silver box has an extra polyethylene foil on the outside making the box water resistant or water protected.
Tailor made reflecting cardboard boxes
The silver cardboard boxes are tailor made according to the required thickness, models, dimensions, etc... As soon as the box has been tested and proven to be sufficient, the user or customer can validate the system in co-operation with Krautz being the producer. The Temax material has therefore several validations, yet owned by the user of the system.
